Before your consultation:

1. Clear out clutter. If we’re coming over to help you plan the next steps in your kitchen remodel, it’s helpful for all of us if there’s less to look past when envisioning kitchen layout changes.
2. Compile your ideas. It’s your kitchen, and we want to find a design that you will truly love. Whether you have a selection of photographs with design elements you like, or you just have a written list, bringing those items to our meeting will help us make sure you don’t forget a feature that matters to you. No idea what you want? That’s okay, we’ll come up with the ideas that will best fit your space, and you can select the ones you want.
3. Features and finishes. The more custom features and finishes you have in a kitchen, typically the more expensive your project will be. We’ll help you decide which ones will deliver you the value you really want and the lifestyle you’re looking for. Our team can advise you on upkeep and maintenance of various finish options so that you can make the best choice for your home.
4. Measure twice, cut once. What does this mean for a design consultation? Take the time before the project starts to really identify what you want. Changing design and materials halfway through the project is costly for you and it slows down your project considerably. We’re more than willing to change the design several times before it starts instead of redoing a project halfway through, so let’s take the time in the beginning to solidify your kitchen remodel concept.
5. Budget, budget, budget. Before your consultation, take the time to nail down your financial budget. If you aren’t sure how much to budget, we recommend getting quotes from multiple companies. Price isn’t the only thing you’re looking for, but it will help you to identify the average price you can expect and also to identify the features that will be costly. We also recommend asking the company giving you a quote to explain the charges you don’t understand so that you have a clear idea of why different companies charge differently. Our objective is to work together to identify the actual budget, not projected budget so that you can feel confident that you won’t get halfway into a major remodel and find out that you need to shell out more of your hard-earned money in order to finish. Our quotes may not always be the lowest but we’re confident that our budget is accurate and our service is the best.
